Who we are
The Canadian Reggae Music Association was created in 2017 and registered as a non-profit organization in 2020 as a federal organization. The organization consists of music organizations, festival promoters, reggae producers, artists, and musicians with over 40 years of experience working in the reggae music communities in Canada and Jamaica.
The CRMA’s membership consists of professional artists, music businesses, and art collectives from the Caribbean communities in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Niagara Falls, Halifax, Winnipeg, Windsor, Ottawa, Montreal, Brampton, and Hamilton.
Mandate
The CRMA’s mandate is to educate and inform professional and emerging artists about the business of music, thus enabling them to earn an income from their music while contributing to the music industry in Canada.

Objectives
To organize and develop cultural, educational, and social programs using multimedia as tools to sensitize society to the serious social problems afflicting artists and youth in the community.
To set up skill training workshops to equip artists and small business owners with marketable skills in the areas of music, songwriting, audio-video production, and grant writing.
To produce an internet media house in the areas of television, radio broadcasting, newspapers, and magazines.
To produce an annual reggae music conference featuring artists from the black and Caribbean community.
To create job opportunities for professional and emerging artists in the Canadian, African, and Caribbean communities.
To produce resource materials such as the Reggae Page directory and digital magazine featuring reggae artists from various Canadian cities.
To organize and implement reggae boot camps and artist development workshops for emerging artists in Canada.
